Why the independence matters

Most sites that rank for a resort name are trying to look like the resort. We are not. NIHI Sumba is one accommodation option among several on this island, and on plenty of dates it is not an available one.

Because we hold no rooms anywhere, we have nothing to push. A page that says Lelewatu suits your trip better than NIHI earns us exactly the same as one that says the opposite.

It also means we cannot confirm a room, a rate or an upgrade. Those are the property’s, and we pass your request to them rather than answering for them.

How we handle numbers

Three rules, applied to every page on this site.

  • Every figure is dated

    The rate card says which year it is from. A price with no date is a price you cannot check.

  • Every figure has a source

    Land rates come from the Indonesia Juara Trip private trip rate card, named on the page that uses them.

  • What we cannot verify, we do not publish

    No resort rates, no awards we have not seen, and no drive time we have not measured.

If you find something on this site that is out of date, tell us and we will change it.
