What does an Indonesia Juara Trip Sumba specialist actually do?
Three things.
First, the route. Sumba is larger than Bali, with rough, partly unpaved roads. A 3- or 4-night trip stays on one side of the island; a 7- or 8-day trip can cross it, arriving at Tambolaka (TMC) and leaving from Waingapu (WGP), or the reverse.

Road times are indicative. In January and February, mud and swollen rivers stretch west-to-east transfers, so we do not sell short cross-island circuits then.
What is our verified-facts policy?
Every number on this site carries a date and a label, or it is not published. Four rules:
- Dated rates only. Resort rates are indicative, sourced from the property’s own page, with the document date. The IDR 50,000 airport tourist tax (Sumba fee guide, 19 August 2026), village contributions of IDR 20,000-50,000 and Weekuri lagoon entry of IDR 20,000 are dated the same way.
- No invented totals. A package total that includes a resort is issued only as a written quote after the hotel confirms.
- Land-only is labelled land-only. The ladder below excludes the resort and is reproduced from luxurysumba.com/sumba-trip-cost, as of 2026.
- Season claims cite their source. June to September as the sweet spot comes from Sumba-focused planners and a multi-decade satellite climate analysis, which puts June to August around 30°C with roughly a 9 percent daily chance of rain.

- Route draft. A day-by-day draft, usually within a working day, with indicative road times, a land-only figure and the hotel’s dated rate.
- Hotel confirmation. We request the rooms. The hotel confirms or declines under its own terms; nothing is guaranteed until it does.
- Written quote. Only now do you see a total, with every inclusion, exclusion and the hotel’s cancellation terms.
- Deposit and documents. Deposit per the quote, then flight guidance for Bali (DPS) to Tambolaka, the IDR 150,000 Bali levy if you transit Bali, and the electronic customs and health declarations.
- On island. One driver-guide, one WhatsApp thread, and the desk watching weather and roads.
June to August needs early requests: high-end room supply on Sumba is small, and villas, cars and guides sell out first.
