Nihi Sumba Trip (nihisumbatrip.com) is not the official website of NIHI Sumba. We are an independent Sumba trip-planning desk run by Indonesia Juara Trip. Every hotel named here, including NIHI Sumba, Lelewatu and Cap Karoso, is an accommodation option we can request on your behalf, never a partner, sponsor or owner of this site.
> We are an independent Sumba travel provider (Indonesia Juara Trip). This website is not owned, operated, sponsored by, or affiliated with NIHI Sumba. NIHI Sumba is mentioned as one accommodation option; bookings are subject to the hotel’s confirmation and terms.
The same statement appears in our footer, on the [About](/about/) page and in the site’s Organization schema, which names Nihi Sumba Trip by Indonesia Juara Trip, not the hotel.
Is nihisumbatrip.com the official NIHI Sumba website?
No. If you searched “nihi sumba not official website” before paying anyone, here is the plain position: this domain is operated by Indonesia Juara Trip, a trip-planning desk within Juara Holding Group, with its own team and invoices.
We hold no NIHI Sumba logo, brand assets, reservation system or rate contract, and nothing here should be read as a statement by NIHI Sumba or any other hotel named.
What we do: plan explore-Sumba trips of three to eight days, arrange a private 4×4 driver-guide and transfers from Tambolaka (TMC) or Waingapu (WGP), and request rooms at the lodge you choose. The hotel decides whether to confirm, at its own rate and terms. To deal with a resort directly, use the contact details it publishes itself.
Which hotel names appear on this site, and in what capacity?
Hotel names are used descriptively, so you can compare where a lodge sits and what a route from it looks like. Locations follow our verified geography notes dated 15 September 2026.
| Property named | Verified location | Road link from gateway | Our relationship |
|---|---|---|---|
| NIHI Sumba | Hoba Wawi, Wanokaka, West Sumba Regency | TMC, roughly 60-90 minutes, conditions vary | None. Accommodation option only |
| Lelewatu | Wanokaka, West Sumba, about 63 km from TMC | TMC, indicatively 1-1.5 hours | None. Accommodation option only |
| Cap Karoso | Karoso Beach, Kodi, Southwest Sumba Regency | TMC, about 50 minutes per the resort’s own estimate | None. Accommodation option only |
Trademarks belong to their owners; no hotel logo or brand asset is used here, and no lodge has endorsed any itinerary shown.
How should you read the prices on this site?
Every figure is indicative and dated. Read the label beside it before treating it as a cost.
| Figure type | Example, as of 2026 | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Resort room rates | NIHI Sumba’s public rates page states rooms exclude a 21 percent government tax and service charge; its March 2026 price document quotes in IDR, with USD converted at the rate on payment day | The hotel’s figure, may change without notice to us |
| Indonesia Juara Trip land-only ladder | 4D3N USD 390/490/570, 5D4N USD 459/700/850, 6D5N USD 570/1,020 per person | Land-only, excludes the resort |
| Package totals including a resort | Not published | Issued only as a written quote after hotel confirmation |
| Local fees | Airport tourist tax IDR 50,000; village contributions IDR 20,000-50,000, up to IDR 100,000 in some regencies; drone fees around IDR 200,000 (fee guide updated 19 August 2026) | Set locally, paid locally, subject to change |
| Government levies | Bali tourism levy IDR 150,000 per international visitor when transiting Bali, since 14 February 2024; visa on arrival about IDR 500,000 for 30 days | Government figures, verify before travel |
A land-only price never includes the resort. A total that includes a resort exists only as a dated written quote from the Indonesia Juara Trip team. Currency conversions here are illustrative; your invoice shows the rate that applies.
Are travel times and season statements guaranteed?
No. Sumba is larger than Bali and parts of its road network are unpaved. A 60-90 minute run from TMC to Wanokaka stretches after rain, and January-February mud and swollen rivers make a three or four day cross-island circuit impractical, which is why our 3-4 day trips stay on one side and only 7-8 day trips cross between TMC and WGP.
Season notes summarise published climate data: a dry season of roughly May to October, June to August averaging about 30°C with around a 9 percent chance of rain, and a wet season from November to April. We do not guarantee sunshine, swell, wildlife sightings, ceremony dates or any particular experience. Bali (DPS) to Tambolaka flight schedules change; we never publish timetables.
What are the booking and liability terms?
- We are an independent trip organiser. We own no hotels, aircraft, vehicles or boats; transport is arranged via vetted licensed local partners.
- A booking exists once you receive written confirmation from Indonesia Juara Trip and the deposit stated on it has cleared.
- Hotel rooms follow the hotel’s own availability, rate, deposit and cancellation policy. If a hotel declines or amends a booking we tell you promptly and offer alternatives; we cannot override its decision.
- Cancellation and refund terms are printed on your quote; non-refundable hotel deposits stay non-refundable.
- Travel insurance covering medical evacuation, cancellation and adventure activities is strongly recommended; serious cases on Sumba are evacuated by air.
- Force majeure covers weather, road closures, flight cancellations and government orders. We rebook or reroute where possible; third-party charges may not be recoverable.
- Where the law allows, our liability is capped at the amount you paid Indonesia Juara Trip for the affected service; indirect loss is excluded.
- Visa, customs, health-declaration and tax notes are general information, not advice; Indonesia’s electronic customs and health declarations are completed within three days of arrival, and current rules sit with Indonesian immigration. We are not a licensed legal, financial, tax or immigration adviser.
How do we handle your personal data under UU PDP and GDPR?
Indonesia Juara Trip processes personal data under Indonesia’s Personal Data Protection Law, Law No. 27 of 2022 (UU PDP), whose transition period ended in October 2024. Visitors from the EU, the UK and other GDPR jurisdictions receive the same practical safeguards, but we are an Indonesian entity and your data is processed in Indonesia.
| Data we collect | Why | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Name, WhatsApp number, email | To answer your enquiry and send quotes | Up to 24 months after the enquiry closes, sooner on request |
| Travel dates, group size, preferences | To build the itinerary | Life of the booking plus the record-keeping period Indonesian tax law requires |
| Passport details, date of birth | Only when a hotel, airline or authority requires them for a confirmed booking | Deleted or anonymised after the trip and retention period |
Your rights under UU PDP, and equivalently under GDPR: access what we hold, correct it, ask for deletion, withdraw marketing consent, and object to processing not needed for your booking. Email sales@indonesiajuara.asia with “data request” in the subject line; we aim to reply within 14 days.
WhatsApp is operated by Meta, so messages sent through it are also governed by WhatsApp’s own terms and privacy policy; do not send passport scans until we ask for them for a confirmed booking. We never sell personal data and share it only with the hotel, driver-guide, airline or insurer delivering what you booked.
