How does booking a Nihi Sumba trip work here?
Six steps, in order. Nothing is charged before step five, and nothing is “confirmed” until the hotel has written back.

- Availability check with the hotel. Your dates and villa category go to the resort’s reservations team as a request. We hold no allotment and no inventory access; the hotel answers, usually within one to two working days, longer in June to August.
- Itinerary draft. Days are built around Wanokaka on the West Sumba coast (NIHI Sumba is at Hoba Wawi; Lelewatu is in the same district), then out to Kodi, the central megalithic villages or, on 7-8 day trips, across to Waingapu.
- Confirmed quote. One written total: resort nights at the hotel’s current rate, land services, 4×4 driver-guide and transfers. The only price we stand behind; everything on this page is indicative.
- Deposit and terms. The hotel’s cancellation policy and our land terms arrive together, in writing. A deposit secures the nights the hotel has confirmed and locks the car and guide.

Land-only covers a private 4×4 with driver-guide, fuel, route planning and TMC transfers; the resort is excluded. The three figures per duration are three land-service tiers. Resort experiences are priced separately by the hotel, per person or couple, in IDR.

How do payment and cancellation work?
A deposit confirms the resort nights the hotel has accepted plus the land services; the balance follows the schedule in the quote. The resort component carries the hotel’s cancellation policy, sent to you in writing before you pay, and it is stricter in June to August. The land component carries Indonesia Juara Trip’s terms. Quotes are issued in USD or IDR; for resort nights the hotel’s final charge follows the exchange rate at payment, so a USD figure is a conversion, not a fixed price.
Before you fly, as of 2026: visa on arrival is 30 days for about IDR 500,000, customs and health declarations are filed electronically within three days of arrival, Bali’s IDR 150,000 levy applies if you transit Bali, and Sumba’s airport tourist tax is IDR 50,000 per a fee guide updated 19 August 2026. Carry cash for village contributions (IDR 20,000-50,000, up to IDR 100,000 in some regencies), waterfalls and lagoons (IDR 20,000-200,000) and drone fees around IDR 200,000.

No. This site is an independent planning desk run by Indonesia Juara Trip and has no booking engine linked to the hotel. We send an availability request to the resort’s reservations team on your behalf, and every stay is subject to the hotel’s confirmation and terms. If you prefer to book the resort yourself, we can still arrange the land side.
How long does it take to get a confirmed quote?
Typically two to four working days from your enquiry: one to two for the hotel to answer the availability request, then a day to draft the route and price the land services. In June to August the hotel side can take longer. A quote is only issued once the hotel’s answer is in writing, never on assumed availability.
What happens if the hotel has no availability on my dates?
We tell you the same day the hotel replies, then offer three routes: shift the dates by a few nights, switch to Lelewatu in the same Wanokaka district or Cap Karoso in Kodi, or split the stay between a boutique villa and the resort. No deposit is taken until a hotel has confirmed nights in writing.
Is it cheaper to book Nihi Sumba through an independent desk?
